We all love a good excuse. We are human after all.

Some love an excuse more than others. Some lack the experience or routine. Some lack the positive drive and realistic goals.

We often even tend to compare ourselves to people we aspire and make excuses against them. Like, well they can do it easy because of this, and this, and this.

I want to give you an example of something I saw the other day. Which really made me sit back and acknowledge the fact that there really are no excuses. If you want it, you make time for it. End of story.

Trust me. Even I make excuses. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about striving to be the best.

When Your Excuses Are Not Justified And The Best Tool To Get Past Them

Let me set the scene for you. 6am Monday morning, my car 🚗 said it was -3 degrees outside, ice on my windscreen and it was still dark enough to have the headlights on.

I saw something that honestly made me question every excuse I have ever made when it comes to health and fitness.

I saw a lady with a head torch on, running. -3 degrees at 6 am in the morning. I almost missed her. Honestly, what a champion.

It would be so easy to think things like:

> She is a morning person

> The cold probably doesn’t bother her anyway (anyone catch my frozen reference here 😝❄️)

> She loves running so it is okay

> Maybe she actually prefers running in the dark

Now MAYBE just MAYBE all of that is true and it was actually super easy for her to get up and do that.

But I highly doubt it.

At some point, when she was first getting started (or even if she is currently getting started). She really had to have some courage and determination to get up early in the freezing cold and dark to get her workout in for the day.

So I really want to use this woman as an example to tell you two things:

> Consistency really is key. It gets just a little bit easier over time (trust me). The benefits start to outweigh the “cons” and you don’t even think twice about it.

> Nothing comes easy.

So this is your friendly reminder to kick butt. Challenge yourself. Stay consistent. Never forget what you are training for.
